MMA fighter vs chimp: Prankster claims a million people tried to watch him get ‘mauled’

Cole Johnson is doing a victory lap after his fake fight stunt went viral.
The 1-0 amateur MMA prospect claimed he was set to take on a chimpanzee at an undisclosed location on September 11.
A website counting down to the fight’s start time was set up before a second went live when the first was removed from the internet due to ‘trust and safety’ concerns.
MMA fighter Cole Johnson believes he could beat up a full-grown chimpanzee and he's ready to prove it.
Cole Johnson’s online stunt sparked a huge debate about what would happen if an MMA fighter fought a chimpanzee.
Thankfully, we never found out, as his countdown ended with the unsurprising revelation that it was one big hoax.
On Saturday, Johnson – also known as Wavy MMA – revealed exactly how many people were on his site waiting for a video of him fighting a chimpanzee to go live.
The 24-year-old branded himself the ‘biggest troll on the internet’ after getting one million people to fall for his trick.
“Guys, we Rickrolled a million people,” Johnson said in a video posted to his Instagram story.
“We just pulled off the biggest Rickroll in internet f—ing history.
“One million people tuned into a live stream wanting to see me get f—ing mauled by a chimpanzee, and we rick-rolled everyone
“F—ing write it in the history books, boys.
“I’m the biggest troll on the internet, motherf—er.”
