More success for Melton Mowbray mixed tennis teams

Melton Mowbray Tennis Club’s Mixed teams kept up their good start to the new season with two out of the club’s three teams collecting very emphatic wins in a hat-trick of successes.

The club’s Mixed first team travelled to Loughborough for their Division 1A fixture and were in dominant form to record a 9-0 win to the delight of skipper Charlie Griffin, who makes no secret of the fact that she believes the club belong in the Premier Division.

Joint skipper Ryan Parmar led the way when he partnered Maia Dunn at second pair and they collected their three wins for just the loss of seven games.

Charlie teamed up with teenager Zev Dewshi at first and they matched this score, also losing just seven games.

Only a fraction of this, third pairing of James Rowe and Amelia Coltman took their three wins for just the loss of eight games to ensure Melton are well in the promotion stakes.

The Mixed second team were in equally dominant form when they entertained Oadby Granville II and were delighted to record another 9-0 win in their Division 1B fixture.

First pairing of Ben Simpkin and Sarah Diver led the way with their three wins for just the loss of four games.

Second pairing of Justin Horobin and Laura Cooper took their three rubbers for just the loss of eight games and third pair of Giles Constant and Danielle Wells clinched their three wins, losing just 12 games along the way to clinch an emphatic win.

The club’s third Mixed team made it a hat-trick of wins for the club when they travelled to Oadby TC III in their Division 4B fixture and returned with the points following an excellent 6-3 win.

Carol Gilchrist and Liam Morrison led the way with a super maximum, losing just 10 games with second pairing of Sarah Medcalf and Mark Ashman weighing in with two wins and third pairing of Alexia Agrafioti and Barry Gill clinching a win to put the seal on a super team performance.
