Pakistan’s Razaullah made a stunning impact on his Test debut as he scored a quickfire fifty against England in the third match in Edgbaston on Friday.

The 21-year-old smoked nine sixes during his 63-ball 81 in the second innings to prevent an innings defeat for Pakistan. Earlier in the first innings, Razaullah had taken four wickets with his right-arm pace.

The young all-rounder put on a century stand for the ninth wicket with Mohammad Abbas to keep Pakistan alive in the Test.

Only one player has hit as many maximums on his Test debut – New Zealand’s Tim Southee, who carted nine sixes against England in 2008.

Interestingly, Razaullah’s heroics happened with Southee as a witness – the retired Kiwi pacer is at the Edgbaston as a consultant with the English side.

Razaullah was the last man dismissed, after being stumped off the bowling of Dan Lawrence, as Pakistan set England a 130-run target.

Tim Southee (New Zealand) — 9 sixes vs England in Napier (Mar 2008)

Razaullah (Pakistan) — 9 sixes vs England in Birmingham (Sep 2026)

Kyle Mayers (West Indies) — 7 sixes vs Bangladesh in Chattogram (Feb 2021)

Gordon Greenidge (West Indies) — 5 sixes vs India in Bengaluru (Nov 1974)
