📢 Mountain View senior to play in 2027 U19 Cricket World Cup

📢 Local student heading to U19 Cricket World Cup

Anannya Aneesh, a senior at Mountain View High School in Gwinnett County Public Schools (Class of 2027), has earned a spot on the USA Women’s Under-19 Cricket Team that qualified for the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

The USA U19 team secured its place by winning all six matches at the 2026 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier held in August in the Cayman Islands. This will be the third straight World Cup appearance for the USA U19 women.

Anannya first fell in love with cricket watching the Indian Premier League with her father and began playing at age 11. She now practices three to four days a week while balancing schoolwork, and says cricket has taught her valuable lessons in teamwork and perseverance.

After graduating from GCPS, Anannya plans to move to India to continue her cricket career. For now, she’s focused on finishing high school and representing Team USA at the World Cup in 2027 in Bangladesh and Nepal.
