Multiple NFL Teams Pursuing $21 Million Running Back Ahead of Trade Deadline

Titans running back Tony Pollard is drawing trade interest ahead of the November 10th deadline, with several possible NFL landing spots emerging.
Multiple NFL Teams Pursuing $21 Million Running Back Ahead of Trade Deadline

By Chris PownallMichael Roberts,

The Tennessee Titans have already shown they’re willing to make difficult decisions about their roster. With the November 10th trade deadline approaching, another veteran could be on his way out.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, multiple teams have expressed interest in Titans running back Tony Pollard. Serena Burks of Titans Wire highlighted the report, which also indicated that Tennessee general manager Mike Borgonzi has been reluctant to discuss a trade.

That doesn’t necessarily mean a deal is off the table.

After all, the Titans recently traded Jeffery Simmons to Chicago despite previously resisting the idea of moving him.

Now, the Titans running back could present another opportunity for Tennessee to acquire draft capital while giving a contender some much-needed help.

Pollard isn’t the biggest name generating trade interest at his position. Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor has also surfaced in discussions, although the reported asking price could discourage potential buyers.

That’s where the Titans running back becomes interesting.

Pollard has rushed for 595 yards and six touchdowns through eight games, adding another 70 yards as a receiver.

He’s also coming off an impressive two-game stretch in which he accumulated 246 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

Those aren’t numbers from somebody struggling to contribute.

Pollard signed a three-year, $21 million contract with Tennessee in 2024. He’s 29 years old, but his recent production suggests there’s still plenty left in the tank.

For a contender looking to improve its rushing attack, acquiring the Titans running back could make more sense than sacrificing premium draft capital for Taylor.

Of course, that depends on what Tennessee wants in return.

The Green Bay Packers should be among the teams considering a phone call. Josh Jacobs remains their primary option, but injuries and inconsistent rushing production have created concerns. Pollard would provide another experienced runner capable of handling significant carries.

Seattle is another possibility.

The Seahawks have dealt with backfield injuries, and adding the Titans running back could strengthen an offense preparing for another postseason run.

Minnesota could also use help. The Vikings haven’t consistently established their rushing attack, and Pollard would give them a veteran who has demonstrated he can carry the workload.

Cincinnati deserves consideration, particularly if the Bengals believe their offense needs another dependable weapon. Pollard’s ability to contribute as a receiver would offer some additional flexibility.

The New York Giants round out the potential destinations. Their offensive struggles extend beyond the backfield, but adding the Titans running back could provide stability while the organization evaluates its future.

None of these teams has been publicly identified as an interested party in Florio’s report. They’re potential fits based on roster needs, not confirmed trade negotiations.

Still, there are enough possibilities to suggest Tennessee could receive an offer worth discussing.

The Titans aren’t obligated to trade Pollard simply because other teams are interested.

He’s producing, and having an established running back alongside young quarterback Cam Ward offers obvious benefits.

But Tennessee is also rebuilding, and keeping a 29-year-old veteran isn’t necessarily the best long-term investment.

The Titans running back has increased his value with his recent performances. If another organization offers meaningful draft compensation, Borgonzi should seriously consider taking it.

Tennessee has already demonstrated that its roster isn’t untouchable. Pollard could be the next player to test just how committed the Titans are to building for the future.
