NFL Week 1 Best Bets

The NFL season is here, which means it’s time for all of us to lose money as we bet on the NFL season. But what if I told you it doesn’t have to be this way?
Over the course of this season, I will attempt to give you five bets I like for the week. These aren’t necessarily the best value picks or even just the safest — just five bets each week I like to win you and me some money. With that out of the way, let’s waste no more time and get into the picks.
Also, this year you can compete right alongside us all without losing your actual money with our Vendetta fantasy contests. All lines will be via DraftKings Sportsbook.
I know it’s week one and both teams may be a little thrown off being in Australia. But are we also going to act like these aren’t two of some of the most gifted, offensively minded head coaches we have in the league?
They have both had entire offseasons to fine-tune that offense, and I believe both offensive units will be ready to go in Week 1. Points will be plenty, and when it’s all said and done, I believe both teams easily score over 48.5 points.
I know I said I wasn’t looking for picks solely based on value, but this one is just too much to pass up. At the very least, when healthy, George Kittle is a red-zone magnet, scoring seven touchdowns in the 11 games he played last season. When it comes time to move the ball in the red zone, Brock Purdy has one guy he is looking to above all others.
Now this isn’t the kind of lock a Christian McCaffrey ATTD would be, but with how many points I expect to be scored, I’m fairly confident Kittle will find the end zone at least once.
Honestly, this number could have been even higher, and I would still feel confident taking it. I actually, for the most part, like what the Browns are doing. They’ve had a couple of solid drafts and seem to be building a solid foundation on both sides of the ball. However, the problem still plaguing the Browns is the lack of proper QB play. And when you are trotting out Deshaun Watson for Week 1, I have a hard time believing your team will see any success.
It’s gotten to the point where Watson may be a worse football player than he is a person, and we all know how insane that would be. But with how much money he’s owed, the Browns feel obliged to play him. The Jags, on the other hand, had a very impressive 2025 season and will look to get 2026 started on the right track. Playing the Brwons week 1 is the perfect way to get that done.
Blake Corum is expected to see an increased role in 2026. So maybe that’s why this receiving prop is so low. But with how low that number is, it’s too much for me to ignore. This is one catch from Kyren Williams, who went over this total 11 games last year. Williams isn’t a true pass catcher like some other dual-threat backs.
Williams has had reliable enough hands for McVay to feel confident enough to get him receptions out in space. It’s usually a lot of screens and swing routes where Williams has the opportunity to get yards after the catch. So yeah, I’m banking on Williams at least bringing in one catch for more than 10 yards.
I’m not usually one for ever taking an under when it comes to final score totals. Just never felt right rooting for teams not to score. But this game feels a little different to me. Bo Nix is back for the Broncos, but I think it’s fair to expect some adjusting coming off that ankle injury.
Jaylen Waddle will be a great addition over the course of the season. But I also expect it to take some time for Nix and Waddle to develop a true chemistry. Then we get to the Chiefs. The offense last year looked all out of whack, and that was before Mahomes tore his ACL, ending his and the Chiefs’ 2025 season.
Kenneth Walker is a great addition, but I don’t think it will be enough, especially against a very stout Broncos defense. I think points will be a premium in this one. Take the under.
