NHL Picks Today: Friday Predictions for the Three-Game Slate (Oct. 30)

Friday’s board is small, but it doesn’t lack storylines. The New Jersey Devils (8-5-0) close out a three-game road trip against the Vegas Golden Knights (9-4-1), with puck drop set for 6:08 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena for Nevada Day.
The Florida Panthers (7-4-2) host the Winnipeg Jets (4-5-3) for their second meeting this week, three days after the Cats rolled in Winnipeg. Out West, the Seattle Kraken (8-4-1) visit a Calgary Flames club sitting at 5-7-0.
I’m pricing all three games off a prediction market today alongside the latest NHL odds. My NHL picks today are below, along with the case for each position.
All three of my NHL picks today trade between 47¢ and 51¢, so the market sees each one as close to a coin flip. A contract on Polymarket pays $1 if it hits, meaning a 47¢ position on Florida returns 53¢ in profit per contract.
I’m opening my NHL picks today with Florida covering the puck line. The Panthers beat Winnipeg 5-1 on Tuesday, with Carter Verhaeghe scoring twice and Matthew Tkachuk setting up four goals.
Special teams did a lot of the damage. Florida went 3-for-5 on the power play and scored three times in a span of 2:51 in the first period.
That loss left the Jets winless in six (0-4-2) as of Tuesday. Winnipeg is scheduled to play Thursday in Tampa before arriving on a back-to-back against a Panthers team that’s been off since Tuesday.
The 46¢ price implies a 46% chance Florida wins by two or more. I’ll take that against a tired team that just got beat by four.
Seattle is 8-4-1 and coming off a win over Toronto on Wednesday, scoring in the final minute to edge the Leafs. That’s the kind of result that keeps a hot start rolling.
Calgary’s night went the other way. The Flames were shut out in Edmonton on Wednesday and sit at 5-7-0, already chasing the pack in the NHL playoff picture.
Both teams get one day of rest, so neither side has a schedule edge. The 52¢ price implies about a 52% chance, and I’m backing the better team against a Flames squad that couldn’t find the net its last time out.
I’m wrapping up my NHL picks today with the Devils in the early game. New Jersey beat Dallas 5-1 on Tuesday before a 5-2 loss in Colorado on Wednesday ended a four-game winning streak.
Connor Hellebuyck stopped 17 of 18 shots in his Devils debut in Dallas, then sat Wednesday while Jake Allen started. He hasn’t been confirmed as Friday’s starter, so watch the goalie news before puck drop.
Vegas has its own crease question. Carter Hart left Tuesday morning’s skate with an undisclosed injury, and Adin Hill made 25 saves in a 4-1 win over Ottawa that night. Hart returned to practice Thursday, so his availability still needs a final check.
The Golden Knights are 6-2-0 at home, but they’ve allowed a power-play goal in six straight games. That’s an opening for a Devils attack led by Nico Hischier’s seven goals and Jack Hughes’ 14 points.
The 50¢ price implies a 50% chance, and I like New Jersey to close the trip with a win while Vegas sorts out its goaltending.
Prices as of 12:08 PM on October 29 on Polymarket. Prediction market prices move throughout the day, so check the latest before taking a position.
