Catilin Clark's first signature shoe, the Nike Caitlin 1s, will be available for purchase on Oct. 1. On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the worldwide footwear giant released its first official promo video teasing the new $140 kicks.
The Indiana Fever guard was portrayed as "just a normal girl from Iowa" in the 30-second advertisement from Nike basketball. A miniature Clark casually ate cereal while a sarcastic message displayed overhead.
The 24-year-old signed an eight-year, $28 million contract with Nike in 2024 after her NIL deal expired upon her graduation from the University of Iowa. Clark joins an exclusive WNBA list that includes Sabrina Ionescu (Nike, A'ja Wilson (Nike), Breanna Stewart (Puma), and Angel Reese (Reebok) as players with signature shoes.
The Nike text above Clark during the promo reads: "Caitlin Clark is just a normal girl from Iowa. Raised to do normal stuff: cereal for breakfast. Football on Sunday. Golf on her days off.
"Eventually, she grew up and got a job. At this job, she sells out a variety of arenas, shoots from distances previously considered unnecessary, and wears shoes with her own name on them. The media finds all of this extremely interesting. But to her, this is all totally normal."
Clark teased a version of the ad with an Instagram post a few days ago, writing "Just a very ordinary day on set" while holding up two different pairs of Nikes.
She has already gifted her Fever teammates blue versions of her new Caitlin 1s. “Going global in these shoes!” Indiana center Makayla Timpson said while gleaning at her present.
Nike has four iterations of the shoe available online, including the Caitlin Blues (adult, $140), the Warning Code (adult, $140), big kids Caitlin Blues (kids, $100), and little kids Caitlin Blues (kids, $90). More colorways, like the "Sea of Reds," will likely follow.
Clark and the Fever were 93-77 losers to the Washington Mystics their last time out, though the guard led all players with 25 points in the contest.
At 27-15, Indiana has already clinched a spot in the 2026 WNBA playoffs. Their first-round postseason is yet to be determined, though a matchup against the Las Vegas Aces or the Atlanta Dream seems most likely.
Clark is a legitimate contender for the league MVP award with averages of 22.7 points (on 45.1 percent shooting) and 8.4 assists per contest, both amongst the top-three of all WNBA players.
