No Extra Money For Your Elections — Sports Ministry Tells GBA

The Ministry of Sports has made its position clear — it has no additional funds to support the upcoming Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) elections.

The Ministry says its budget is already stretched and there is no extra money to sponsor or support the electoral process of the GBA.

According to the Ministry, it understands the importance of the GBA elections to the future of boxing in Ghana, but at this time, it cannot release any additional funds beyond what has already been allocated for sports activities.

The statement has sparked concern in the boxing community. Many stakeholders fear that without financial support from the Ministry, the elections could face serious challenges.

The GBA elections are very important because they will decide the next leaders who will manage boxing in the country. Boxing is one of Ghana’s most loved sports, and many believe it needs strong leadership to grow.

Some members of the boxing fraternity are now calling on private sponsors and corporate bodies to step in and help, since government says it has no extra money.

Others are also asking the Ministry to reconsider its decision, saying that abandoning the GBA at this critical time could hurt the development of boxing.

For now, the Sports Ministry insists — there are no additional funds.
