Noche UFC’s Tommy McMillen says he’ll ‘dust’ Alexander Volkanovski in UFC 333 backup offer

Tommy McMillen elaborated on his previous comments about a matchup with Alexander Volkanovski.

Many have high hopes for McMillen’s star potential after earning back-to-back post-fight bonuses in his two Octagon appearances.

His bold personality is sure to divide opinion, with McMillen getting into it with Marwan Rahiki ahead of their matchup this weekend in Glendale, Arizona.

The 28-year-old certainly won’t back down from a challenge if the money is right, and that includes facing the top names in the featherweight division.

Alexander Volkanovski has had to wait longer than he would have liked to put his featherweight title on the line again.

His clash with Movsar Evloev is finally set to take place next month at UFC 333, though some may have concerns about the Russian making it to the Octagon.

Tommy McMillen is willing to be on standby if the promotion offers him the right money to be ready and on-weight in Abu Dhabi.

When speaking to MMA Fighting ahead of his return this weekend, McMillen clarified comments that he’s made in the past regarding Volkanovski.

He says that some things were taken out of context when he said he’d match up well with ‘The Great’ and believes he’d have the advantage in the championship rounds.

However, he doesn’t take this back, saying that his self-confidence and willingness to fight anyone for the right money is what got him to this position in his career.

“100 percent, UFC wants to pay me and be like, ‘Yo, Tommy, come be the backup for this fight.’ F—— send me, bro. I’ll pull up there like a bag of f—— Cheez-Its and dust any one of them boys, bro.”

When talking about the upcoming featherweight title fight, Tommy McMillen couldn’t think of Movsar Evloev’s name.

He called the Russian title challenger “so boring” before arguing that with his wrestling background, he could fight like that if he wanted to but chooses not to.

“Nobody wants to see him win. F— wrestlers, dude. You got to want to go out there and lay on people. I could do that, too. I could have done that in all my last fights.

“I could go out there and lay on these guys and f—— be a Khamzat [Chimaev] and just do all that. That s—‘s boring, bro. No one wants to do that. So let’s hope Volk wins.”
