The National Rugby League has bought its sixth hotel under chairman Peter V’landys. The acquisition is worth more than the other five combined.

The NRL is in the final stages of buying the Novotel Sydney International Airport hotel for $115 million, its sixth hotel purchase in five years and the largest asset on its balance sheet.

The NRL and the hotel’s owner, property fund manager Charter Hall, exchanged contracts this month, and the transaction is likely to settle in the coming weeks.
