October In Full Swing: A look into the wild MLB Playoffs heading into the World Series
The 2026 MLB World Series is set, and it’s a fight between two teams who are still looking for their first ever world series titles.
The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays square off in a world series matchup that few people expected.
The postseason started with a “wild” Wild Card round that saw the Chicago White Sox earn a series win for the first time since 2005, a Yankees sweep of the Red Sox, A thrilling Braves-Phillies series and the re-emergence of Slam Diego.
This is where the back-to-back reigning champions, LA Dodgers, stepped in and took care of business against Atlanta, while the MLB win leading Brewers made light work of the Padres.
In the American League, the first-place Rays swept the Yankees while the Cleveland Guardians came back from down 2-0 to defeat the White Sox.
All of this set up championship series matchups between the Rays and Guardians and the Dodgers and Brewers.
The Rays defeated the Guardians in six games, while the Brewers swept the Dodgers to make the world series for the first time since 1982.
Both the Rays and Brewers are still looking for that first World Series title, and one of them will be awarded the prestigious trophy by the end of the month.
