Oregon vs Oklahoma State Prediction: Odds, expert picks, team and player news, betting trends, and stats

The Oregon Ducks (1-0) travel to Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater to take on an Oklahoma State Cowboys (0-1) squad that was upset 24-10 by Tulsa in the season-opener. Oregon had its own scare, scoring 20 points in the second half to beat Boise State 34-27 after trailing 17-14 at the half. The headliner and question of this game is how many points can Dante Moore and the Oregon offense score against an Oklahoma State squad that came into the season obviously overhyped.
Oklahoma State went 1-11 last year, winning its season opener versus an FCS team, then losing 11-straight — Make it 12 consecutive losses now. The Cowboys lost 24-10 to Tulsa and transfer QB Drew Mestemaker (North Texas) struggled with two interceptions and a lost fumble. The Cowboys turned the ball over four times total and the defense did what it could holding Tulsa to 1-of-11 on third downs, but struggled in other areas like not recording a single sack or allowing 9.5 yards per completed pass. This Oregon team will be the best offense (and team) Oklahoma State sees all season.
Oregon’s offense started its season with 34 points and could put up even more at Oklahoma State if all goes well. Dante Moore put up a career-high 378 passing yards and three different receivers scored against Boise State. Oregon’s running back room should see more work this week due to the likely possibly of a blowout. Jordon Davidson and Dierre Hill Jr. combined for 22 carries, 126 yards, and one touchdown. The Ducks defense held Boise State to 4-of-15 on third downs, 2.6 yards per carry, and grabbed three sacks. If Oregon can cut down on the penalties (10 for 90 yards), then this team should average more than their 35.4 points per game in 2025 (13th).
Let’s dive into the schools on both sides of the ball, look at a few key players, and see where the numbers take us.
Game Details and How to Watch Oregon vs Oklahoma State
Head Coach: Dan Lanning2026 Record: 1-0 (0-0)Offensive Points Per Game: 34.0 (T-63rd)Defensive Points Per Game: 27.0 (101st)2026 Strength of Schedule: 28th
Oregon’s offense was cooking in the second half against Boise State. Dante Moore led five scoring drives for 20 points capped off by a 62-yard score via Dakorien Moore. The Ducks averaged 35.4 points per game last year (13th) and kicked 2026 off with 34 points, which is right on par with expectations. The Ducks outgained the Broncos, 497-274, but had 10 penalties for 90 yards. Oregon will have a softer matchup this week at Oklahoma State. Oddsmakers project Oregon at 40 points scored this week.
Dante Moore recorded a career-high 378 passing yards against Boise State to start 2026. The career-best marked the fourth game of at least 300 yards since 2025. Four different receivers had at least 50 yards and three different receivers caught a touchdown from Moore. Oklahoma State allowed Tulsa to throw for 227 yards on 17-of-24 passing last week. Moore should have a big day for the Ducks.
The Ducks held Boise State to 4-of-15 on third downs (26.6%) and held the Broncos to 274 yards (93 rushing). Boise State’s longest run was nine yards, so it’s safe to say the Ducks rush defense will be a top 10 unit. However, Oregon’s red zone troubles continued. Oregon allowed Boise State to score all four times (2 FG, 2 TDs). The red zone defense was ranked 114th last year with opponents scoring 88.5% of their possessions inside the 20 against Oregon.
The hype around Koi Perich is deserved. In his first game with the Ducks since transferring from Minnesota, Perich led Oregon in tackles with 11, solo tackles with three. Perich is not returning any kicks or punts for Oregon and not playing offense, so he will solely focus on defense and rotating positions in different packages. Perich logged 20 snaps at free safety, 15 at strong safety, eight at slot corner, and even one on the defensive line! He can do it all.

Head Coach: Eric Morris2026 Record: 0-1 (0-0)Offensive Points Per Game: 10.0 (T-122nd)Defensive Points Per Game: 24.0 (T-94th)2026 Strength of Schedule: 61st
Most of the hype around this Oklahoma State team that won one game last year came from the offense, but that may not be the case anymore. Oklahoma State’s offense went 5-for-16 on third downs, turned the ball over four times, and had four drives that lasted five players or less. With newly acquired quarterback, Drew Mestemaker (North Texas), the Cowboys averaged 4.9 yards per pass and 3.4 yards per carry versus Tulsa, which is not going to cut it.
In Drew Mestemaker‘s first start with Oklahoma State, the Cowboys offense managed 10 points and he was inefficient. The former North Texas quarterback completed 29-of-49 passes (59.2%) for 241 yards, one touchdown, one fumble, and two interceptions. Mestemaker threw for 34 touchdowns to 9 interceptions last year, plus 4,379 passing yards. I don’t expect those numbers with Oklahoma State because it will take time to mesh.
Oklahoma State’s defense was the highlight of their 24-10 loss. The Cowboys held Tulsa to 1-for-11 on third downs and grabbed an interception. Given the fact that the Cowboys offense turned the ball over four times, it’s impressive Oklahoma State could gave up only 24 points. The Cowboys didn’t record a sack though and allowed a score in every quarter. Containing this high-octane Oregon offense will be the toughest challenge of the season for Oklahoma State.
LaDanian Fields earned himself an interception against Tulsa in his 2026 debut. Oklahoma State’s defense had six interceptions as a whole in 2025 and Fields was tied for the team high with two! With no pass rush, Oklahoma State will need playmakers in the secondary and Fields appears to be it. Fields will primarily guard Evan Stewart (8 rec, 72 yards) and Jeremiah McClellan (6 rec, 150 yards, 1 TD), which is going to be a handful.
“Oklahoma State is a mess. Nothing was pretty for the Cowboys except its third down defense, but I don’t think they will be able to stop Oregon like they did Tulsa. Coming off a career-high 378 passing yards, Dante Moore will be able to make explosive plays down the field and the Oregon running back committee should each score at least once. Oregon scoring six touchdowns in this game is within the realm of possibilities, especially since the Ducks dropped in the rankings for winning a game against the PAC-12 favorite and favorite to make the playoff out of the non-P4 conferences. That’s motivation.”
