Paddy Pimblett takes aim at ‘sore loser’ Ilia Topuria after wild Justin Gaethje glove accusation

Paddy Pimblett isn’t buying Ilia Topuria’s excuse for losing his lightweight title on the White House lawn.
Both Pimblett and Topuria were defeated by Justin Gaethje for belts this year; the Brit at UFC 324 for the interim and the Georgian six months later at UFC Freedom 250. It took the latter a whole summer to return to public life, with intentions of returning early next year.
Who could ever claim to deserve a shot above 'Batman' following his massive KO
Topuria was gracious in defeat after the White House event, but has now outlandishly claimed that Gaethje ‘put something weird in’ his gloves. This claim has been denied by the UFC as well as Gaethje, and now his greatest rival is rubbing salt in the wounds.
In a lengthy statement released this week, Ilia Topuria claimed that he would be returning shortly after passing medical tests, before adding an outrageous allegation against Justin Gaethje. “Next time I’ll make sure they check Justin’s gloves so he doesn’t put anything weird on them,” he wrote.
Paddy Pimblett, his arch nemesis, seems to be lined up as a possible opponent for Topuria should he not get an immediate rematch. And in a new YouTube video, the Scouse fighter mocked him for the wild accusation.
“Ilia is trying to say that he had stuff in his gloves, which he definitely never,” Pimblett explained. “You know, the commission watch you get your hands wrapped. I think he’s just being a sore loser, lads, and being a little b—- about it.”
Pimblett did admit that it ‘wouldn’t surprise’ him if the UFC did book a rematch between Topuria and Gaethje next as a result of what the former champion is saying. However, he doesn’t quite believe the outrageous glove claim.
