Pakistan, India clash in high-voltage Women's T-20 Asia Cup match tonight

Pakistan will take on arch-rivals India in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup high-voltage clash in Dubai on Saturday (today) night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The match will start at half past seven in the evening and the Greenshirts are looking to continue their momentum after a big win over Thailand.
However, Pakistan women cricketers will need a better performance if they are to trouble India. Their bowlers will have to find a way to contain Mandhana and Shafali Verma, while the batting unit will need to put up a competitive total.
India’s middle order will also be tested, with the team likely to use the match to give players more time in the middle ahead of the semi-finals.
The two teams last met at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Birmingham, where India won by 64 runs. India posted 170/6 and then bowled Pakistan out for 106. Deepti Sharma was the star of the match, taking 5/10.
India also have the stronger head-to-head record in T20Is. They have won 14 of the 17 meetings between the two sides, while Pakistan have won three.
India have also won eight of their last nine matches against Pakistan, including the 2026 T20 World Cup clash. Pakistan’s last T20I win over India came in the 2022 Asia Cup, when they won by 13 runs.
Pakistan opener Ayesha Zafar said that the upcoming Women's Asia Cup 2026 clash against India is just another game and made it clear that her team will look to continue their momentum after a big win over Thailand.
India have already booked their spot in the last four while Pakistan need one win in their two remaining matches to qualify. While a loss will not be very harmful to their chances, a match between India and Pakistan always comes with a lot of scrutiny. However, Zafar played it down at the pre-match press conference and said that they will be taking one match at a time in the competition.
“Yes, it's Pakistan vs India, but this is just another match. We are taking one match at a time. It's our second match, so we are hoping to put up a good show and eventually win it," Ayesha said.
“We can't focus on one thing; overall, we have focused on all three [batting, bowling and fielding]. We have been putting in a lot of work into fielding. Our mentor also said that we can't compromise on fielding because it's something that can win you matches," she added.
Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma said that India have always been one step ahead of Pakistan in their recent meetings and would look to continue just like that when they face each other in the Women's Asia Cup on Saturday.
India, who have already made it to the semi-finals with one game in hand, will start as favourites against Pakistan in their final league game.
