LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Paseo Verde’s run through the Little League World Series gave Henderson plenty to celebrate.
Four wins against U.S. opponents in Williamsport culminated in a United States championship, putting the team from Southern Nevada on one of youth baseball’s biggest stages.
But for head coach Corey Edwards, the experience carried an added layer of meaning.
His son, Logan, was right there with him.
Edwards had the chance to lead a group of players from Henderson through an unforgettable postseason run while also sharing some of the biggest moments of his coaching career with his own son.
From the pressure of elimination games to the celebration that followed the U.S. championship, father and son experienced the highs and lows of Williamsport together.
When asked what it was like to share the journey with Logan, Edwards described the experience as something he will never forget.
The memories extended beyond wins and losses.
Throughout the tournament, Edwards emphasized keeping his players composed and representing themselves the right way — even in difficult moments. That message was on display throughout Paseo Verde’s run as the team continued to respond to adversity and ultimately earned the title of U.S. champions.
For Logan, it meant playing on the biggest stage in Little League Baseball.
For Corey, it meant getting to coach his son on that stage.
And for a team that made Henderson and Nevada proud, their father-son story became one more unforgettable part of a historic summer.
