Pete Crow-Armstrong Ties Billy Williams for Most HRs by a Cubs Left-Handed Hitter

Pete Crow-Armstrong has tied Hall of Famer Billy Williams for the most home runs by a left-handed hitter in a single Chicago Cubs season, Marquee Sports Network’s Taylor McGregor noted after Monday’s win at Wrigley Field.
Crow-Armstrong’s 42nd homer matched Williams’ 1970 mark for Cubs lefties. PCA finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs in Chicago’s 7-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves, adding another chapter to a season that already includes a 40-homer club and a live 40/40 chase.
The swing that tied Williams:
On Tap tracked Crow-Armstrong when he reached 40 homers earlier this month and put the franchise’s first 40/40 season in play. Monday’s blast kept that chase alive while locking him into a shared single-season record with Williams among Cubs left-handed hitters.
Crow-Armstrong has been the centerpiece of Chicago’s lineup and defense in center field all year. With the Cubs still playing meaningful September baseball, every remaining homer and stolen base will be measured against both Williams’ lefty mark and the rarer 40/40 feat for the the club.
