Premier League: City 9-4 for title after derby delight keeps tabs on perfect Arsenal

A Manchester derby marred by controversy saw ten-man City claim the win against United at Old Trafford as Erling Haaland's second-half strike helped Enzo Maresca's men to keep pace with Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
Phil Foden was sent off in the first half after kicking out at United's Bruno Fernandes but City rolled up their sleeves and carried a greater attacking threat with Haaland's 60th-minute goal surviving a VAR check to ensure that they join the Gunners on four wins from four matches.
Arsenal, having maintained perfection of their own with Saturday's 2-0 win at Sunderland, remain favourites for the title at 4-6 with City 9-4 in what is already developing into a two-horse race.
The 1-0 loss leaves United 13th in the Premier League with only four points and they are out to 11-8 for a top-four finish. Haaland, meanwhile, is 8-15 for the Golden Boot after getting his fourth goal of the campaign.
Brighton put in a five-star display as they cruised past rock-bottom Coventry 5-0 to move into the top four, leaving the promoted Sky Blues as only the second side in Premier League history to lose their first four matches without scoring.

Five teams in the Premier League remain without a win after four games and bookmakers are already fearing the worst for Frank Lampard's Coventry, who are 1-3 for the drop and 11-10 to finish bottom of the pile.
Aston Villa and Tottenham are also winless, having picked up only one point each, and they meet on Saturday in a huge fixture before the international break.
Spurs are yet to score this season having been held to a goalless draw by Everton, while Villa netted their first goal in their 2-1 defeat by Nottingham Forest. It's 12-1 that either of them go down, though.
Three draws in four games for Bournemouth suggests that their time will soon come but the signs are more concerning for third-bottom Fulham, who are 2-1 for the drop after collecting only one point from four games and they have Manchester United next.

Arsenal still boast a winning record four matches into their title defence and Saturday's 2-0 success at Sunderland was further evidence of their defensive steel.
It could have been different had Sunderland converted a penalty early in the second half with the game still goalless, but David Raya made a super save before the Gunners seized the opportunity.
Raya kept his fifth clean sheet in six games this season and he is protected by a defence who have conceded only nine shots on target in four league victories.
Chelsea's Morgan Rogers is the only player to have scored past Raya this term and it is 16-1 with bet365 that Arsenal concede fewer than 14 league goals this season, while they are 25-1 to finish the campaign unbeaten.
Matchday five in the Premier League kicks off in style as Brentford host Chelsea on Friday in what promises to be a London dust-up littered with entertainment.
The Blues’ defensive vulnerabilities again came to fruition in a 2-2 draw at home to Hull on Saturday and there is nothing easy about the trip to Brentford, who remain unbeaten after four outings albeit with three draws.
The Bees drew 2-2 at Bournemouth on Saturday and their last four top-flight meetings at home to Chelsea have ended level, two of which were also four-goal classics.
There have been 19 goals in Chelsea's four league games this term, so over 3.5 goals appeals at 6-5, while both teams to score and draw is on offer at 10-3.
