Prominent UFC manager releases statement after record database flags fake fight against fake opponent

Myllena Messias’s manager has commented on the video of her recent “fight”.
The UFC signing a fighter who is just 4-0 this week shows that a record isn’t always the most important thing when it comes to MMA.
However, it’s still important that a competitor’s results are accurately recorded so that they can’t be made to look better than they are.
The MMA database Tapology may have caused a debate regarding Patchy Mix last month, but their recent post about changing a result was impossible to argue with.
On September 10, Tapology posted a video on X of a “fight” between Myllena Messias and Taynara Almeida.
The database has declared that this was a fake fight and, having watched Almeida compete in the past, states that she isn’t the woman standing in the cage.
It’s clear to see from the footage that was posted that neither woman is attempting to do any damage to their opponent, with the bout ending without any real impact.
As a result, this won’t count as a win on Messias’ record, with her remaining at 8-3.
Fake name, fake fight. 9-3 Myllena Messias took on someone announced as Taynara Almeida.
Purple-hair girl is not named Taynara Almeida. We've seen her real fights and she knows how to throw punches. This is not a legitimate fight and the hidden identity proves the intent. These…
The Brazilian is represented by long-time MMA manager Alex Davis, who also works with the likes of the recently retired Edson Barboza and several other UFC fighters.
Davis recently provided a statement on the fight that was shared on social media by Nolan King.
“Myllena’s fight that has come under scrutiny was before I started managing her,” he said. “She was supposed to be in a real fight but her opponent dropped out last moment so they set up an exhibition match. Pretty obvious if you watch the fight. This fight should not be on her record and we are asking Tapology to take it off.”
It appears on Tapology that this fight took place back in 2024 at Soldado Combat 3, where she faced Nathalia Pletz instead of Taynara Almeida.
