Racing Bulls seek to take Monza momentum to Spanish Grand Prix at all-new MADRING

Lindblad finished eighth at the Italian Grand Prix, while Tsunoda (standing in for regular driver Liam Lawson who is substituting for injured Isack Hadjar at Red Bull) took tenth as Racing Bulls maximised their opportunities on a weekend where overtaking proved difficult.
Madrid presents a completely different test. The 5.4km circuit mixes public-road sections with purpose-built track, leaving teams with little relevant data before Friday practice.
Lindblad believes the demanding layout has echoes of two famously intense street circuits: "It was great to be back in the points in Monza, which gives us confidence heading into the upcoming rounds, starting with Madrid this weekend. It’s exciting to have a new track for everyone, especially in such a great city, so hopefully it will put on a good show and the fans will enjoy it.
"I’ve driven the circuit in the sim, and it’s quite intense. The closest comparisons I can think of are Macau and Jeddah, as you’re constantly busy behind the wheel, with a lot of corners and not much time to rest.
"It’s a very technical layout, so it will be a big challenge for both teams and drivers, with plenty to learn and work on. It also looks like overtaking could be difficult, as there aren’t many long straights, so it will be really important to maximise our track time from the start of the weekend, gather as much data as possible and arrive at Qualifying in the best position to fight for a strong result."
Tsunoda is also carrying confidence from Monza as he continues getting reacquainted with the VCARB 03. The Japanese driver said: "I’m very excited to have another opportunity in the VCARB 03, especially off the back of scoring points last weekend. It was a positive result and a great way to build confidence.
"I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum into another race with the team. Madring is a new track for everyone, and being a street circuit adds another layer of complexity. There will be plenty of preparation needed to build the confidence required to really push and find the limits around a circuit like this.
"My aim is to keep learning as much as possible and continue building my understanding of the car, so I can extract the maximum performance for the team. Hopefully, we can put everything together and come away with some more points."
Racing Bulls are P5 in the 2026 Formula 1 World Champion, best of the rest as they head to Madrid and final ten rounds of this season.
