Ranked: the worst to best chances among title leader Billy Loughnane's full book of rides at Ascot on Saturday

Billy Loughnane hopes to be lifting the Flat jockeys' championship trophy for the first time at Ascot in two weeks' time.

He heads to the Berkshire track with a full book of six rides on Saturday in a bid to extend his lead over Oisin Murphy, who rides at Longchamp this weekend.

Murphy was 23 winners behind Loughnane after Friday's racing and this week said of the title race: "I'm under no illusions how difficult it would be to win the jockeys' championship now, unfortunately. I think Billy's gained it now and he deserves it."

We have assessed the title leader's mounts at Ascot and ranked them from worst to best chance.

Race 2.25 Ascot, BetMGM Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3)

This consistent performer is winless this year but continues to run well, having finished second on his last two starts. He is 5lb better off with Al Aasy for a length-and-a-half defeat at Beverley in July but that rival has since won a Group 2. Tenability is another who make more appeal.

Jky: Billy Loughnane Tnr: Charlie Appleby

Race 4.10 Ascot, 5f handicap

Gold Star Hero has a 4-5 record on the all-weather and 1-16 strike-rate on turf but all-weather horses have often been suited to Ascot and he has been placed on both his visits this season. He is likely to make another bold bid from the front but could be vulnerable to the late finishers.

Jky: Billy Loughnane Tnr: Michael Bell

Race 3.00 Ascot, John Guest Racing Bengough Stakes (Group 3)

A one-time Guineas hope who has not been seen since his first defeat when third in the Craven in April and the first two have done little to boost the form. This is his first start since wind surgery and the drop to 6f looks a good move as he is a strong traveller. He will have to be pretty smart though to beat these race-fit rivals headed by Maurice de Gheest second Division.

Race 3.35 Ascot, BetMGM Challenge Cup

Moonfall won the Britannia at Royal Ascot and has held his form well in three subsequent handicaps. Keeps climbing the ratings but recorded his best two RPRs on his last two starts and looks to still be improving.

Jky: Billy Loughnane Tnr: George Boughey

Race 1.15 Ascot, BetMGM British EBF October Stakes (Listed)

Trainers John and Thady Gosden

So Regal could prove a class apart. She should have taken a step forward for her Atalanta fifth at Sandown on her first start in more than three months and this quicker ground will be more to her liking. She looks to have been found a good opportunity at this level.

Race 1.50 Ascot, BetMGM Rous Stakes (Listed)

Improved to the tune of 18lb in the sprinting ranks this season and arrives on the back of a close second in the Ayr Gold Cup. Won over this course and distance on his penultimate start – his only previous outing over 5f – and importantly should get a good gallop to aim at.

Jky: Billy Loughnane Tnr: Ollie Sangster

Forty rivals, five races, no defeats: can anything stop Blue Bolt from securing Juddmonte's missing Group 1?

A high draw is often favoured on Ascot's straight track - and that will not be music to the ears of the Challenge Cup favourite
