Royal Desert Champions Join Abu Dhabi T10 League for 2026 Season

The Royal Desert Champions have officially joined the Abu Dhabi T10 League, marking a new chapter for the tournament under the guidance of Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub (ADCSH).

This team draws inspiration from the diverse community of the UAE, celebrating the dreamers, builders, and achievers who have made the region their home. Their mission is to embody the spirit of ambition and achievement, both on and off the cricket field.

The franchise has appointed Trinidadian star Nicholas Pooran as captain and Icon player. Joining him are England's Phil Salt and West Indies' Sherfane Rutherford, creating a formidable lineup of short-format specialists. Their debut in the 2026 tournament is scheduled from November 7 to 20 at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Pooran is recognized as a leading talent in T20 cricket, having captained the West Indies until 2024. Salt, known for his aggressive batting style, adds depth to the top order, while Rutherford brings versatility as an all-rounder with experience in various major leagues.

The Royal Desert Champions are characterized by the resilience and adaptability of the desert environment. Founded by Amit Narang, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 17 years in banking and fintech, the team aims to establish a legacy that resonates with fans both locally and globally.
