In the second round, both boxers increased their activity, with Sachin landing another strong left hook. Mohammad countered and attempted to utilise his reach advantage. The round remained closely contested, but Sachin’s punches connected better, earning him a 4-1 victory on the judges’ scorecards.
Mohammad started the final round aggressively, aiming to change the fight’s momentum, but struggled to land clean punches as fatigue set in. Sachin maintained his composure and grew more effective, ultimately securing a 4-1 split-decision win to reach the quarterfinals.
Siwach is scheduled to face Japan’s Shunsuke Kitamoto, also a World Championships bronze medallist, in the quarterfinals two days from now. This victory contributes to India’s ongoing boxing campaign at the Asian Games as the nation continues to pursue medals across various disciplines.
