Savannah Bananas Confirm Two Games in Louisiana

(KMDL-FM) Baseball is a time-honored tradition in Louisiana. We have had our success in the college ranks, with both LSU and the Ragin Cajuns of the University of Louisiana earning time in the national spotlight. Baseball also has historical ties to the region as well; just ask any fan of the Alexandria Aces or the Crowley Millers, and they can tell you about baseball.

But what the Savannah Bananas have done to baseball has flipped the script on what the national pastime is supposed to be. And we have confirmed that the “script-flipping” antics of the Savannah Bananas and their unique brand of baseball are coming back to Louisiana.

To say Banana Ball is a “phenomenon” is like saying Ella Langley had a pretty good year in country music. If you weren’t aware, she did, and the “Bananas” are now one of the top draws in the sport. If you can call what they do on the field “sport”.

The Savannah Bananas recently released their 2027 schedule, and two dates in Louisiana are on it. Both dates have been confirmed for Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge. The games are set for March 4th and March 6th. The Bananas will be matched against the Firefighters.

WBRZ Television is reporting that the games are part of an economic development plan in Baton Rouge called Death Valley Live. This was promoted as a partnership between LSU Athletics, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, and the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership and Visit Baton Rouge.

The Savannah Banana Ball World Tour for 2027 includes stops at 79 stadiums in about 75 cities. The tour will feature games in Mexico and Canada as well as in the United States. The Tour opens in February in Monterrey, Mexico. There will also be games in Tijuana, Mexico.

The season will conclude in September 2027 at the New Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN. The “Banana-verse” includes the Savannah Bananas, The Party Animals, Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, Loco Beach Coconuts, and the Indianapolis Clowns. In previous seasons, tickets for each event have sold out quickly.Click here to view photo gallery
