Scotland stars bag tries in England as French clubs provide Ben White and Blair Kinghorn injury updates

It was another mixed weekend for Scottish international rugby stars currently plying their trades in England and France’s top flights.
The latest round of action from the PREM saw four different Scots scoring tries for their respective teams while others suffered defeat. Meanwhile, across the Channel, very few expats were selected for their teams either due to injury or being rested.
Updates have been provided on two key players from Gregor Townsend’s national team and it looks like good news ahead of next month’s Nations Championship Test matches. Here is a round-up of the Scotland stars who featured in the PREM and Top 14 last weekend and how they got on:
Bath kicked off the latest round of the English PREM with a 40-34 win at home to Exeter Chiefs on Friday night. It was centre Cam Redpath who opened the scoring in the 11th minute for the hosts while Finn Russell also bagged himself a try and kicked four conversions.
Tom Jordan, playing at full-back once again for Bristol Bears, was a try scorer in his side’s 41-26 win at home to reigning champions Northampton Saints. Rory Hutchinson played the full match at outside-centre for the visitors.
It was a chastening weekend for Harlequins who were hammered 48-0 by Gloucester on the road. The fixture marked former Edinburgh centre James Lang’s second competitive league debut for Quins, coming on as a 41st minute replacement.
Newcastle Red Bulls suffered a 19-24 home defeat at the hands of Leicester Tigers with Chris Harris playing the full match and Elliot Millar Mills starting before being replaced in the 45th minute. There was another full 80 minute outing for lock Cameron Henderson while prop Will Hurd came off the bench for Tigers in the 50th minute and scored a try later in the half.
Finally, there was a big result for Sale Sharks who picked up a 21-17 win away to Saracens with Gus Warr playing the full match at scrum-half and winger Arron Reed starting before being replaced on 61 minutes. Fergus Burke was in action for the visitors and kicked a conversion.
Over in France there were only four Scotland internationals in action across all the games with Hamish Watson playing the full 80 minutes at number 8 for Castres in their 7-8 home defeat to Toulouse. Blair Kinghorn missed out for the visitors for the second week in a row with a recent squad update confirming he was one of several injured players in a ‘reconditioning phase’ so should return at some point in the coming weeks.
The winning Montpellier side had scrum-half Ali Price and former Scotland captain Stuart Hogg come off the bench after 69 minutes to help them secure victory. The only other Scot in action was Dave Cherry who managed 53 minutes from the start for RC Vannes as they lost 40-43 at home to Pau.
