Sean O’Malley admits to altercation with fan during Tommy McMillen’s Noche UFC walkout: ‘I smoked him’

Sean O’Malley’s night at Noche UFC didn’t pass without at least one small confrontation.
This past Saturday, the premier promotion hosted their latest iteration of Noche UFC, which was headlined by a featherweight clash between Jean Silva and Jose Delgado.
But it was another 145lb fight on the main card that had most fans excited, as Tommy McMillen took on Marwan Rahiki in his second fight in two months.
And with ‘Tommy Gun’ competing on the card, that meant for an appearance from the former bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, as he took up his position in McMillen’s corner.
The impressive 28-year-old went on to score his third UFC win since earning a contract in what was a Fight of the Year contender.
Throughout fight week, McMillen and Rahiki’s team clashed on several occasions, and during a brief run-in at the fighter hotel, McMillen launched a twinkie at one of Rahiki’s coaches.
Despite that, O’Malley and head coach Tim Welch managed to keep themselves out of the controversy, which was a good thing for the promotion.
However, in his immediate reaction to his teammate’s win, ‘Suga’ Sean revealed that he had an altercation with a heckling fan during McMillen’s walkout.
“That was my first time cornering in an arena, and it was insane,” O’Malley said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“To have it be a fight like that is f—— sick and I can’t wait for the other boys, Ezra (Elliot) has a fight coming up, Tommy will probably fight next weekend. Suga Sean vs Petr Yan I’ll probably corner myself.
“Walking out to the arena, we’re standing out in the back in the walkway and for probably like two minutes as the end of Rahiki’s song was playing and you could see the fans, the fans are over the top of you, this one f—— drunk cowboy guy was shouting ‘F— you Tommy, you f—— p—-‘ for like two minutes.
“I grabbed my hat and rolled it into a ball and I got it into a nice ball and right when we walk out I smoked that motherf—– right in the face with it. Part of me felt bad because, like, I looked up at one point and he said, ‘You’re cool, you’re okay’ to me, but I was like, ‘F— off’,” he continued.
O’Malley explained that because of McMillen’s antics of throwing something at Rahiki’s team earlier in the week, security patted them all down before they walked out.
“Tommy threw that twinkie at the coach so before we walked out to the arena from the locker room, they had security pat us down… And I didn’t plan on throwing my hat… And then this f—— fan. I was going to give it to a fan but that guy got a hat to the face.”
