Serves after Sunset: Leamington Tennis and Squash Club completes LED court upgrade

Leamington Tennis and Squash Club has completed the final phase of its LED floodlight upgrade, bringing energy-efficient lighting to all 12 of its tennis courts.
The final three courts were completed in April 2026, marking the completion of a project that began with the first nine courts being upgraded in 2023.
The latest phase has been made possible thanks to a £5,000 Climate Change Grant from Royal Leamington Spa Town Council, supporting the club in completing the final stage of its LED upgrade. As well as two £20,000 awards from Warwick District Council’s Rural and Urban Capital Investment Scheme, received in September 2023 and March 2026. The scheme supports locally led, not-for-profit community organisations with capital projects, including new facilities, equipment and measures that improve energy efficiency.
The new LED lighting, installed by Wiseman Lighting, has already made a significant difference to the club. Since the first phase was completed, members have benefited from improved night-time playing conditions, longer opportunities to play and strong demand for evening court bookings, which are now regularly close to capacity.
The upgrade is also delivering financial benefits for the club through improved energy efficiency, while helping to reduce its environmental impact.
Importantly, the club has also seen no complaints from neighbouring residents regarding light spill since the new lighting was installed.
With all 12 courts now benefiting from LED floodlights, the club is looking forward to making even greater use of its facilities throughout the year.
Leamington Tennis and Squash Club would like to thank Royal Leamington Spa Town Council, Warwick District Council and Wiseman Lighting for their support in helping bring the project to completion.
