Shawkan Mohammed’s late strike gives Aduana FC first GPL win

Aduana FC secured their first victory of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season with a dramatic 2-1 win over Karela United at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa.
Stephen Amankona put the home side ahead from the penalty spot before Karela United fought back to level proceedings in the second half.
Iddi Mahfuz scored the equaliser in the 55th minute after driving into the Aduana penalty area and firing into a crowded defence. His effort deflected off an Aduana defender and found the back of the net to make it 1-1.
With the game seemingly heading for a draw, *Shawkan Mohammed struck in the eighth minute of stoppage time to give Aduana FC all three points.
The result marks Aduana FC’s first win of the campaign after they opened the season with a draw away to Heart of Lions before losing 1-0 at home to Samartex FC.
Coach Samuel Boadu and his team will now turn their attention to a major Week 4 test against Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.
Kotoko are yet to lose in the league after picking up a point from their 1-1 draw away to Samartex FC at Samarboi.
The Aduana FC-Kotoko clash is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of Week 4 as both sides look to build momentum early in the campaign.
