Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors' star player, has been one of the finest athletes that the world has ever seen. While his talent has been incomparable, Stephen Curry has often reflected on how both his parents supported him and never forced him to take up a career in basketball even though his father, the Charlotte Hornets’ legend Dell Curry, is an NBA legend. Amid this, the four time NBA champion Stephen Curry has opened up about when his family got emotional over him.

In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Stephen Curry opened up about the first round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament when the Davidson Wildcats defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Back on March 21, 2008, Stephen Curry completely took over the game, scoring 40 points (including 30 in the second half) and hitting 8-of-10 from three-point range to lead 10th-seeded Davidson to an 82-76 comeback victory. The NBA legend reflected on the moment as he said, "I hit a three, I pointed at my mom and dad in the stands as I got back in on defense, and she lost it. Got really emotional, started crying.”Stephen Curry added, “My dad's showing the most emotion I've ever seen from him…He basically stood up, was yelling, and gave me a big fist bump in the air.”The four time NBA champion continued, “He usually just sits with his chin in his hands, no emotion, whether we're playing well, I have 40, or I have two points, he's always real stoic," he added. "That game, he just let loose, which is fun to see."

Things changed in Stephen Curry’s life quickly as he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the first round as the 7th overall pick during the 2009 NBA Draft held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. After joining the Golden State Warriors, it did not take the popular NBA icon Stephen Curry too long to transform into one of the most legendary players that the world has ever seen.

Stephen Curry has also been committed to the Golden State Warriors throughout his career even as many rumors swirled about leading teams being interested in him in the new season. In a recent interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, the star player Stephen Curry opened up about wanting to be in the Golden State Warriors forever as he said, "There's no question I want to be here the rest of my career, and I'm pretty sure that's going to happen…he deal and the contract stuff will happen at the right time, and we're not letting it be a distraction from our preparation for the season, and the fact that the team we're coming back with has a lot of familiarity.”The NBA legend also added, “Hopefully, we can be healthy and just have a chance to show what we're capable of, myself included, missing so many games last year."
