Sophie Cunningham says she’s ‘fortunate’ to get to play with Indiana Fever trio

Sophie Cunningham has commented on making sure the trio of Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and Kelsey Mitchell get the ball when they need to.
The Fever are in the midst of an impressive season which is set to see them compete in the playoffs, and those three stars have played a key role in their success so far.
Mitchell has the second-highest points average in the WNBA right now behind A’ja Wilson, while Clark is third in the league.
Now, in quotes shared on the Indiana Fever’s website this week, Cunningham has spoken about how she is ‘fortunate’ to get to play with the aforementioned talent.
When writing about Boston, Clark, and Mitchell, the piece from the Fever stated that ‘Cunningham recognizes the rarity of that talent trifecta, and embraces the opportunity to share the court with them’.
They then shared quotes from Sophie, who said: “We just try to make sure they get the ball when they need it.
“We know they’re going to get the majority of the shots, and that’s how it should be. And you know, when we get the ball, we need to knock down our shots and do what the team needs.
“I’m just fortunate I get to play with them.”
While Cunningham may not be the star of the show for the Fever, she has played an important role off the bench this season and could end 2026 with the Sixth Player of the Year award.
She is also still chipping in with her fair share of points, averaging 8.3, which is the fourth-best on the team ahead of Monique Billings (6.8).
