Super-sub Dores strikes twice as KLSC maintain fine start

Ruben Dores came off the bench to score twice as KLSC fought back from a half-time deficit to beat Holt Reserves 4-2 and maintain their perfect start to the season.
The hosts made it six points from six after turning the contest around with an impressive second-half display.
KLSC had started brightly and went ahead after 12 minutes when Tyler Reeve latched on to Alfie Royal’s well-judged pass before finishing to make it 1-0.
The home side had opportunities to increase their advantage but were punished for failing to take them.
Holt levelled against the run of play on the stroke of half-time when their forward broke through the KLSC defence and beat the advancing goalkeeper.
Things got worse for the hosts three minutes into added time as a Holt corner caused problems inside the penalty area and the visitors bundled home to lead 2-1 at the break.
KLSC responded by introducing Dores for Sary Rahma at the start of the second half and the change helped turn the game in their favour.
Harry Carter restored parity on the hour, continuing his fine start to the campaign with his third goal in two matches.
Dores then took centre stage.
The midfielder put KLSC ahead after 70 minutes with the goal of the game, collecting possession 25 yards out before curling a superb effort into the top corner.
He struck again 13 minutes later to put the result beyond doubt and complete a fine individual contribution from the substitute.
The 4-2 victory gave KLSC a second successive win and continued their encouraging opening to the new campaign.
Dores’ match-winning contribution, which included his spectacular long-range opener, also earned him the man-of-the-match award.
