Supercomputer predicts where Nottingham Forest will finish in table as Oliver Glasner makes mark

Nottingham Forest are being tipped to secure a comfortable mid-table finish this season.
It is taking time for the Reds to get used to new head coach Oliver Glasner’s way of playing and it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing so far. Performances in the early stages of the campaign have shown positive signs but also areas in need of improvement.
Forest have picked up five points from their opening five Premier League games. Their 2-1 triumph at Aston Villa represents their only win, while they have claimed draws against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, and suffered defeats to Leeds United and Coventry City.

With the action paused for the international break, Glasner’s men are 13th in the table. It is very early days, of course, and the campaign still has a long way to run.
The Reds will want to avoid being in the position they found themselves in last time around, when they were scrapping for survival. Amid a managerial merry-go-round Trentside, Vitor Pereira came in and steadied the ship by securing a 16th-placed finish.
Pushing up the rankings is the aim under Glasner. Stats experts Opta are tipping the Austrian to lead the club to 14th spot come the end of May, with an expected points tally of 45.33.
Forest claimed 44 points in 2025/26, finishing five points clear of West Ham United in 18th. Opta believe there is only a 21.54% chance of Glasner’s men being relegated this term.
Back on the continental stage is where the Reds really want to be. They had a taste of it with last season’s run to the Europa League semi-finals and are hungry for more.
In Glasner, the club have a manager with European pedigree. He arrived Trentside fresh from his UEFA Conference League success with Crystal Palace.
However, Opta suggest the chances of Forest staging an immediate return to Europe by finishing high up the table are slim. They give the Reds a 2.67% chance of finishing in the Europa League spots and a 3.87% chance of reaching the Champions League, with their chances of claiming the Premier League title at a miniscule 0.11%
Arsenal are tipped to retain their title, pipping Manchester City to the trophy. Coventry, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur are predicted to fall through the relegation trapdoor.
