T&T MMA team heads to Pan-American Championships

Trinidad and Tobago’s national mixed martial arts team has departed for Bogotá, Colombia, where it will compete at the 2026 Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) Pan-American Championships from September 8-13.
The 12-member team is aiming to build on a strong showing at last year’s GAMMA World Championships in São Paulo, Brazil, where Trinidad and Tobago produced a medal for each of its 14 athletes.
The 2025 campaign yielded two gold, seven silver and five bronze medals, with T&T finishing 12th among more than 60 countries.
The squad for this year’s Pan-American Championships is captained by Seon Adhar and includes Amy Rajkumar, Renee Fortune, Che’don Grant, Kai-El Grant, Eli Jackie, Elijah Cudjoe, Denahi Gustav, Jonathan Bunbury, Sonia Baboolal, Mirza Griffith and Jazz Julien.
The delegation is headed by Mixed Martial Arts Association of Trinidad and Tobago (MMAATT) president Adam Chin Leung Kam, with vice-president and head coach Kerry Grant, striking coach Richard Acosta, technical personnel and medical staff completing the delegation.
Chin Leung Kam said the team was focused on extending the success achieved at the World Championships.
“Our athletes proved at the World Championships that Trinidad and Tobago can compete successfully at the highest international level,” he said.
“We are proud to once again represent our country and our goal is to continue building on that success at the Pan-American Championships.”
The championships will provide the T&T team with its next opportunity to test itself against the region’s leading MMA athletes as it seeks another strong medal haul on the international stage
