The 12 Anthony Taylor decisions that angered Chelsea fans as ...

The Blues supporters feel they have suffered at the hands of Anthony Taylor in the past and will rejoice that the referee has been demoted from the Premier League
More than 160,000 Chelsea supporters, and probably even more, will have rejoiced at the news that Anthony Taylor had been demoted from Premier League action. Taylor has been a Premier League official since 2010, but will not referee in the top flight this weekend.
The major Premier League decision comes after controversy during the Wolves vs Newcastle United clash last weekend. Taylor was the man in the middle as the Magpies were awarded a penalty when Hwang Hee-chan was deemed to have caught Fabian Schar as he looked to clear the ball.
Replays showed Hwang pulling out of the tackle, but VAR did not overrule the decision on the field. Callum Wilson fired home the resultant spot-kick, with the match ending 2-2.
There was a huge outcry after the game, with many pundits deeming it not a foul. And Taylor will now not referee in the Premier League this weekend. He will instead be in the middle for the Championship fixture between Preston and Coventry on Saturday – his first time officiating in the second tier since 2019.
The news will delight Chelsea supporters, who have previously called for him to never referee a Blues match again. A petition on Change.org was started in August last year after the match between Chelsea and Tottenham ended 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
Harry Kane equalised deep in stoppage time that day, after Cristian Romero had pulled Marc Cucurella's hair - a foul that was not given and not overturned by VAR, with then-VAR official Mike Dean later admitting that it was a decision he regretted.
More than 160,000 people have signed that petition, with Chelsea fans naming 12 different incidents that they felt Taylor got wrong in their matches.
• Kovacic red card in FA Cup Final
• Maguire stamp on Batshuayi
• Gazzaniga kick on Alonso
• Romero pulling Cucurella's hair
• Reece James 'handball' vs Liverpool
• Sanchez handball in FA Cup final
• Maguire hold on Azpilicueta
• Lo Celso stamp on Azpilicueta, no red
• Giroud 'offside' vs United
• Werner no foul/penalty vs City
• Emi Martinez handball outside the box, not penalised
