‘The hype got to his head’... Joe Rogan questions Gable Steveson’s mindset after KO loss at UFC 331

Joe Rogan has accused Gable Steveson of being overconfident heading into UFC 331.
The highly touted heavyweight prospect was a huge favorite to beat Sean Sharaf at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
However, Gable Steveson ended up getting knocked out in a monumental 12-second upset at UFC 331.
Sean Sharaf knocked out the Olympic gold medalist in 12 seconds.
Joe Rogan recapped all the main headlines from UFC 331 immediately after the event ended.
The popular podcaster questioned Gable Steveson‘s mindset during a conversation with his co-commentators, Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik.
“I think the odds and the hype got to his head,” Rogan said.
“He thought he couldn’t be beaten, and he stood there flat-footed. Sean just uncorked a picture-perfect left hook. He dipped, and then hooked, and caught him on the chin. The chin and head snapped back, and he’s out cold.
“It was one of the biggest Cinderella stories. It has to be, without a doubt, the biggest odds ever, if you bet for Sean to win by knockout in the first round.”
Gable Steveson was called an ‘ungrateful loser’ by Daniel Cormier for his reaction to the UFC 331 upset.
The 4-1 fighter stormed out of the Octagon and headed backstage before Sean Sharaf’s win was officially announced by Bruce Buffer.
“Gable made some mistakes in there, you know, you’re a 4-0 fighter, wrestle, you have to,” Cormier added.
“And also, you stand there, and you take your lick whenever you lose. You let that man get his hand raised, and you stand there no matter how you feel. If you’re concussed, cry, I did. You take your lick whenever it doesn’t go your way.
“You cannot be a great winner and then an ungrateful loser, and I think that was bad from Steveson.”
