‘This guy is special’: Gilles Grimandi has just named Arsenal’s dream signing for January

Every Arsenal fan knows that a new left-sided attacking player is top of the shopping list both in January and then the summer window in 2027.

The Gunners sold Martinelli, Trossard and Jesus in the summer and only managed to sign Christos Tzolis in return, with the Greek star currently injured to compound things further.

Of course, signing someone who can bring the quality Arsenal need on that side and is available is the magical formula that seems nigh on impossible to find.

However, if Arsenal had the chance to choose any player in the world, then according to former Gunner Gilles Grimandi, there is only one man for the job.

Anyone who has watched European football in the last few seasons has seen Kvaratskhelia become one of the best players in the world. The Georgian has been superb in PSG’s successive Champions League wins and according to Grimandi, he’d be perfect for Arsenal.

Speaking about Kvaratskhelia, former Gunners defender Grimandi suggested the PSG man is the perfect signing for Arsenal in an ideal world.

“This guy is special. He’s special because he’s always good in the big games and last season, every time when the competition was getting close to the end, he was getting better and better,” Grimandi told GOAL.

“He has fantastic commitment; he’s running, he’s defending, and when he gets the ball in the final third, he’s very efficient. For me, he’s a special guy. He looks like he’s choosing his games because so far this season he hasn’t played too many, but he just knows that he wants to be prepared for the spring time and that’s his target. He knows that big games will come.

“He can play for any team in Europe, of course he can play for Arsenal. For me, he’s one of the best players in his position.”

Of course, Grimandi was realistic in his assessment and went on to add that landing Kvaratskhelia is a completely different matter entirely.

Nevertheless, should Arsenal keep winning titles and getting to European finals and eventually winning them, then players like Kvaratskhelia are very much on the radar, even if the price would be huge.
