Thomas Tuchel called up 15 players from his first England squad – with 11 axed

Thomas Tuchel's England squad looks very different to the first one he named just 18 months ago. The Three Lions boss picked a 26-man party for the quartet of Nations League games, which begins with world champions Spain's visit to Wembley on Saturday.
There have been various withdrawals and late call-ups since but the original selection saw 11 changes from the squad named for Tuchel's first games in charge, the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia in March last year, with 15 remaining.
Four of the players missing from that first squad are injured - Dean Henderson, Dan Burn, Reece James and Jordan Henderson. Kyle Walker has retired from international football, while others have simply been overlooked or fallen out of Tuchel's plans.
Aaron Ramsdale's career has gone rapidly downhill, to such an extent that he is now the fourth-choice keeper at Championship Southampton. Jarrod Bowen has also dropped out of the Premier League but could return to Tuchel's plans if West Ham regain their Premier League status.

In defence, Levi Colwill has missed out, with Jarrad Branthwaite preferred instead. Curtis Jones is not involved following a disappointing final season at Liverpool before his summer move to Inter Milan.
Following his World Cup snub, Phil Foden has again been left out, with Tuchel overloaded for options for the number 10 role. Finally, Dominic Solanke, not helped by Tottenham's continuing struggles, has missed out after scoring just once this season.
Here's a look at Tuchel's first squad, with the players not currently involved in bold...
