Two changes as Scotland Women bid to end losing run in Wallaroos rematch

Scrum-half Leia Brebner-Holden and winger Katie Buchanan have been promoted to the Scotland Women starting line-up as the squad resume their WXV Global Series campaign on Australian soil.

Brebner-Holden, 24, takes over from Ceitidh Ainsworth at nine, with the latter dropping to the bench. Buchanan, 23, will make her first start for Scotland and is selected on the left wing. Rhona Lloyd switches to the right and Shona Campbell joins Ainsworth among the replacements.

Scotland have never beaten Australia and will play them twice down under, with another match scheduled for a week on Saturday in Canberra.

The Scots are looking to end a run of seven consecutive defeats stretching back to the second round of this year’s Six Nations.

The squad is under the interim charge of Dave Butcher following Sione Fukofuka’s sudden exit in August. Fukofuka has been appointed Australia’s head coach but will not take charge until after the matches with Scotland.

Saturday’s match will take place at the Accor Stadium and will kick off at midday locally, 2am in the UK. It is being screened live on RugbyPass TV.
