Tyson Fury claims he will face Oleksandr Usyk next as Anthony Joshua fight appears to fall through

Tyson Fury seems to have moved on from Anthony Joshua altogether – and Oleksandr Usyk is stoking the flames of a trilogy.

There are contracts signed on both ends for an all-British super-fight between Fury and Joshua that is being mooted for this November. Unfortunately, issues over where the event should take place as well as the involvement of Dana White and Zuffa Boxing have caused significant issues.

Let us know in the comments whether you think it will finally take place next year.

Fury has claimed on social media that the fight is off altogether, while Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn says that he is pursuing legal action against the TKO Group. All the while, the Manchester native is now pushing for a trilogy with the only man to defeat him in the ring.

With Tyson Fury seemingly already moving on from his contractually obligated fight with Anthony Joshua, another big name has emerged. Oleksandr Usyk gave up his belts earlier this year in order to focus on big name bouts instead of mandatories, and could be set for a trilogy with his old rival.

After an initial callout video from Fury, Usyk shared one of his own where he trained by walking backwards on a treadmill. In it, he sends a message to Fury by his nickname ‘Greedy Belly’, saying: “Hey Tyson, I’m coming for you my brother.”

Fury was more verbose in his response, telling Usyk: “My brother from another mother, a proper, proper fighting man. You’re still a rabbit, and I’m the greedy belly 100 per cent. But at the end of the day you’re a fighting man and I respect that to the hilt.

“This man has fought me twice, let’s do the trilogy. Let’s get it on like donkey kong, two real men who will fight at the drop of a hat. Proved it a thousand times, I am sick to death of s— houses making a million demands and making a million promises but delivering absolutely nothing.

“I know Oleksandr is a proper fighting man and he knows that I am the same. We will meet again in the trilogy coming very, very soon. Let’s go, time to get it back now, Oleksandr, I need it all back – come on, rabbit!”
