Tomar achieved a victory in her UFC debut at UFC Louisville on June 8, 2024, defeating Rayanne dos Santos by split decision. This win made her the first Indian mixed martial artist to succeed in a UFC bout.
Since then, Tomar’s record has been mixed. She was defeated by submission by Shauna Bannon in March 2025 and lost in the first round to Shi Ming at a Road to UFC event on May 29, 2026.
Despite these setbacks, Tomar continues to represent India on the global MMA stage. Her participation in the UFC has increased visibility for mixed martial arts in India. She has spoken about the significance of Indian fighters receiving recognition in the sport.
Tomar holds a professional record of nine wins, five losses, and no draws, with six victories by submission and four submission losses.
In December, Tomar told ANI she was excited about the inclusion of MMA in the Asian Games and expressed confidence in Indian fighters securing gold medals in the competition. “I am delighted that our team is going to the Asian Games. Indian fighters will bring gold in the Asian Games,” she said.
Nicknamed “The Cyclone” for her swift and decisive fighting style, Tomar entered mixed martial arts seeking new challenges and greater exposure.
