Van, Tsarukyan Face Clear Paths After UFC 331

Joshua Van and Arman Tsarukyan each have clear trajectories following their UFC 331 performances, according to ESPN's matchmaking breakdown of the main card results.

Van's most probable next assignment points toward a ranked opponent in his division, while Tsarukyan's path could involve a title eliminator depending on how the lightweight picture shakes out over the next several weeks. The report also identified wild-card scenarios for both fighters that would require specific outcomes elsewhere on the roster.

For the remaining main card winners, ESPN outlined logical progression fights that balance rankings momentum with promotional availability. Several losers from the event now sit at crossroads — some needing bounce-back victories against unranked opposition, others still positioned for meaningful matchups if they can secure quick turnarounds.

The matchmaking analysis accounted for current divisional landscape shifts, injury timelines, and contractual situations that could accelerate or delay certain pairings. Wild-card options for multiple fighters hinge on potential upsets or withdrawals in already-scheduled bouts over the next eight weeks.

UFC 331's next wave of bookings is expected to begin materializing once medical suspensions clear and the promotion finalizes its summer event calendar.
