Vinod Kambli Shares Heartfelt Message from Elderly Care Centre

The former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, renowned for his exceptional cricket skills, recently shared a heartfelt message reflecting on the affection and support he has received at his current residence.

This video has stirred emotions among cricket enthusiasts, especially those who fondly recall Kambli's rise alongside his childhood friend, Sachin Tendulkar.

Currently residing at the Nidan Centre for Elderly Care in Thane, Kambli is receiving treatment and support. In his video message, he expressed his gratitude for the nurturing environment and facilities available at the centre.

He thanked those around him for their kindness, stating that their care makes him feel at home, providing a sense of comfort during challenging times.

Over the past few years, Kambli has faced several health challenges. In December 2024, he was hospitalized in Thane due to low blood pressure and a bladder infection. Medical examinations revealed electrolyte imbalances affecting his muscle function and residual blood clots from a previous stroke. He was treated and released in January 2025.

A recent update on September 28 indicated that his friend Marcus Couto reported Kambli's condition as stable, noting that he appeared stronger and was able to walk during a visit.

Kambli's cricket career began with a legendary partnership with Tendulkar during their school days, where they set an unbroken world record of 664 runs in 1988.

He went on to represent India in 17 Test matches and 104 One Day Internationals (ODIs), accumulating 1,084 runs in Tests and 2,477 runs in ODIs, including four centuries and back-to-back double centuries against England and Zimbabwe.

His recent message has revived memories for fans who admired his remarkable batting prowess in the 1990s, when he was hailed as one of India's brightest cricketing talents.

Despite the worries surrounding his health, Kambli's message from the care centre conveyed his gratitude for the ongoing support he has received.

His current situation has drawn renewed attention to his cricketing legacy, with fans continuing to rally behind him and wishing the former Indian cricketer a swift recovery.
