Virat Kohli Achieves 15,000 ODI Runs: A Milestone Celebration

Rajkumar Sharma, who coached Virat Kohli during his formative years, expressed immense pride in Kohli's recent accomplishment of surpassing 15,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He emphasized that this milestone is a source of national pride, highlighting Kohli's champion mindset, dedication, and rigorous preparation, especially after his return from a lengthy hiatus.
Kohli's bat continues to shine, as he not only crossed the 15,000-run threshold but also celebrated his 86th international century. During a chase of 296 runs, he remained not out at 139 runs off just 88 deliveries, showcasing his prowess with 10 fours and nine sixes, achieving a strike rate exceeding 157. Notably, his nine sixes marked a personal best for a single ODI innings.
Sharma remarked, "This is a significant achievement, and I am genuinely thrilled. The entire nation shares this joy. Kohli is a champion player who has once again demonstrated his capabilities. Despite a long break, his work ethic and preparation were evident in his performance. It was a remarkable innings, and his dominance was a pleasure to witness."
Sharma also highlighted Kohli's 55th ODI century as a pivotal moment, noting that many of his centuries have contributed to India's victories. He stressed that Kohli's most significant impact lies in the number of matches he has helped India win. Fans across the nation are eager to see him continue his cricketing journey, including in Test matches, and hope he does not retire from international play anytime soon.
Following this innings, Kohli's ODI career statistics stand at 15,080 runs from 315 matches and 303 innings, boasting an impressive average of 59.13. His record includes 55 centuries and 79 half-centuries, with a highest score of 183.
