Virginia Tech men’s basketball ACC schedule released

ROANOKE, Va. – Virginia Tech will open the 2026-27 Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball season at home against Louisville on Dec. 30, the league announced Wednesday.
The Hokies will begin ACC play at Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum for the seventh consecutive season. The conference recently moved to an 18-game league schedule, giving Virginia Tech two home-and-home series this season — against longtime rival Virginia and Boston College.
One notable omission from the schedule is Duke. The defending ACC champion will not face Virginia Tech during the regular season for the first time since the Hokies joined the conference in 2004.
Virginia Tech will host nine ACC games, including four on Saturdays. The biggest Saturday home matchup comes Feb. 27, when North Carolina visits Blacksburg.
The Hokies will face eight teams that participated in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, with seven of those games coming at home.
Virginia Tech’s complete ACC schedule:
Jan. 9 — vs. Boston College
Jan. 20 — at Florida State
Feb. 20 — at Boston College
Feb. 27 — vs. North Carolina
March 6 — at Georgia Tech
The Hokies will play their first game of the 2026-27 season Nov. 3 against Coppin State as part of a previously announced 14-game nonconference schedule. Tip times for the ACC games will be announced after television selections are finalized.
The 2027 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 9-13 at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
