WA Trials for Croatian World Games to be held early next month

Trials for next year’s Croatian World Games will be held in Perth early next month.

The Western Australian trials, to select representatives for Team Australia, will be staged at two venues over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of October.

Mosman Park’s Nash Field and Davis Oval will serve as the hosting venues for interested Australian Croatian sportspeople. They are hoping to take part in next year’s Games in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“Croatian Australians of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in trials to represent Team Australia at the Croatian World Games in Mostar, 27–31 July 2027,” announced the Western Knights Soccer Club on its official Facebook page.

“Trials will include Football/Soccer (boys & girls U17/U19, Seniors, Masters 35+ and Veterans 45+), along with a range of other sports,” continued the statement.

“The weekend will also bring together WA’s Croatian community through sport, culture, and social activities.”

This will include Croatian music, folklore and food at the WA Croatian Community Centre on the Saturday night.

“We strongly encourage all WA Croatian sporting, cultural, church and community organisations to get behind this initiative and encourage your members, families, and friends to participate,” concluded the media statement from the Croatian community backed Western Knights.

Following the Perth trials, the Team Australia trials’ roadshow will continue on to Melbourne (24-25 October). After that, it will move to Sydney (31st Oct-1 Nov) and Canberra (21-22 November).

Trial dates for Hobart and Adelaide are yet to be determined. In contrast, the Gold Coast will hold trials early in the New Year.

All eligible trialists for all sports that attend and take part in the trials will go into a draw to win a return flight to Croatia to the value of $4000!

The draw will likely be done later in the year or early in 2027 at the latest. To be eligible, participants will need to register an EOI and confirm their attendance on the day of the trial.
