Wakefield Trinity name reduced squad for Super League semi-final as Wigan Warriors stars return from injury

Powell will select from 20 players ahead of the Betfred Super League play-off, rather than the usual 21. Full-back Josh Rourke (knee) and outside-back Jayden Myers (head) have been recalled to the initial group after injury, but prop Emre Guler is unavailable.

Wigan coach Matt Peet has made two changes to the 21 named ahead of his side’s league leaders’ shield-clinching win against Catalans Dragons two weeks ago. England centre Jake Wardle returns after two weeks on the casualty list with a calf muscle injury and half-back Jack Farrimond - who hasn’t played since July because of a hamstring problem - also comes into contention. Josh Cartwright and ex-Wakefield prop Sam Eseh make way.

Wakefield Trinity’s squad is: Max Jowitt, Cameron Scott, Corey Hall, Tom Johnstone, Jake Trueman, Mason Lino, Mike McMeeken, Tyson Smoothy, Ky Rodwell, Jazz Tevaga, Jay Pitts, Caleb Hamlin-Uele, Caius Faatili, Harvey Smith, Isaiah Vagana, Lachlan Walmsley, Jack Sinfield, Jayden Myers, Josh Rourke, Zac Lipowicz.

Wigan’s 21 is: Jai Field, Zach Eckersley, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall, Bevan French, Harry Smith, Ethan Havard, Brad O’Neill, Luke Thompson, Junior Nsemba, Liam Farrell, Kaide Ellis, Sam Walters, Patrick Mago, Ollie Partington, Jack Farrimond, Kian McDermott, Taylor Kerr, Austin Daniel, Shea O’Connor.
