‘Way crazier’ – Stephon Castle delivers brutal verdict on Knicks fans after playing at MSG in NBA Finals

San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle has taken aim at New York Knicks fans after facing them in the NBA Finals earlier this year. The Spurs lost all three Finals games at Madison Square Garden, the league’s most famous arena.
Castle’s comments will certainly raise eyebrows, given the Knicks’ reputation for creating an incredible home atmosphere. The Spurs star was not particularly impressed by the MSG crowd and even compared it to another NBA venue.
Give us your reasons below 👇
Stephon Castle was one of the San Antonio Spurs’ key players during their 2026 postseason run. He established himself as a future All-Star, averaging 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists against the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals.
The 21-year-old was unfazed by the bright lights at Madison Square Garden. He claimed the atmosphere was less electric than he expected for the Knicks’ long-awaited return to the Finals.
“It was underwhelming in that first game,” Castle told GQ Sports. “They made it seem like it was going to be way crazier in there. OKC was way louder than MSG.”
The Oklahoma City Thunder have some of the NBA’s most loyal fans and regularly create an incredible atmosphere at the Continental Coliseum. Castle clearly felt the Oklahoma City crowd was louder than the Knicks fans at Madison Square Garden.
However, even if Castle genuinely believes what he said, his comments could easily be interpreted as sour grapes. The Spurs defeated the Thunder in a thrilling series, while the Knicks eliminated San Antonio after winning all three games at MSG.
