The Roosters dominated the game but not the scoreboard and only got home by a point in the end, 19-18, thanks to a Daly Cherry-Evans field goal, but still accomplished their mission.

The players, along with coach Trent Robinson and chairman Nick Politis, celebrated with fans during a lap of honour before the team got some time to themselves on the field after the 80,000 fans left Accor Stadium.

Mark Nawaqanitawase, Angus Crichton, Tommy Talau and Siua Wong even had a bit of a dance with the Provan-Summons Trophy in the middle of the stadium before players celebrated in the sheds.

Spencer Leniu won his fourth title and first with the Roosters after a three-peat with Penrith from 2021-2023.

ROOSTERS: Recruit goes down in NRL folklore; star changes the game

KNIGHTS: All-time ‘one-man freak show’; Origin star goes missing

His former Penrith teammates Jarome Luai, Stephen Crichton and Brian To’o were at Accor Stadium to cheer him on and posed for photos after the game as he showed off his rings.

Leniu helped change the game with a powerful stint after coming on in the 25th minute.

Roosters’ young gun Benaiah Ioelu received a premiership ring of his own despite not getting on the field after being part of the six-man bench.

He was still in party mode and even mocked himself on social media while posting a picture of himself with his new ring, saying: “When you ain’t do nun on the group project.”

The Roosters’ Instagram account has been busy in the past 12 hours as the club sent a message to their critics.

Ahead of the Grand Final the club’s Instagram bio read: “Hunger Makes Hunters”.

It was changed after the win to: “We Told You”.

After the press conferences were done the Roosters piled into the team bus and headed for Easts Bondi in Bondi Junction to celebrate with the rest of their fans.

Thousands were waiting to see their heroes emerge and skipper and Clive Churchill medallist James Tedesco showed off the trophy while speaking to the Roosters faithful.

“Thank you every single one of you for supporting us all year, whether it’s at home or away, or out at Homebush you guys turned up, supported us all year, so I can’t thank you enough, let’s celebrate well,” Tedesco said.

Crichton, who played his last game for the club before he heads off to rugby union, was seen puffing on a cigar before mingling with fans inside the leagues club.

Celebrations continued throughout the night before some players emerged early on Monday morning.

Shortly after 6am Nawaqanitawase emerged from Easts Bondi Junction and spoke to the media camped outside.

Last night was his final game, at this stage, in the NRL as he heads off to Japanese Rugby for two years.

He capped off his NRL career in the best possible fashion with a premiership and two tries in the Grand Final.

“Absolutely stoked, great win with the lads. Enjoying it at the moment, just can’t believe it happened,” he told Seven’s Sunrise on Monday morning.

Wong and Talau were with Nawaqanitawase at a Bondi café having breakfast with Wong still wearing his game jersey.

The Roosters will continue celebrating on Monday morning with fans at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
