What time and TV channel is Ireland v Japan on today in the WXV Global Series?

Head Coach Scott Bemand has made six changes to the side that was over-run by USA in the second-half last week.

Unfortunately the side top-rated no8 Aoife Wafer has been ruled out of selection this week after suffering a minor injury in training.

Connacht trio Béibhinn Parsons, Anna McGann and Aoibheann Reilly come into the back-line as right-wing, second-centre and scrum-half respectively.

Tight-head Eilís Cahill earns her first Ireland start in the front-row while hooker Neve Jones steps up from thhe bench.

Wafter's absence sees Jemima Adams Verling witch to no8 allowing Brittany Hogan to come in at blindside.

Bemand has included uncapped hooker Beth Buttimer in the Match Day 23 for the first time.

The 21-year-old is set to make her Test debut off the bench having been in standout form for Munster during the recent Women’s Interprovincial Championship.

It is Ireland's second game on consecutive weekends, having lost 36-40 to USA last week despite having held a 31-12 lead early in the second-half.

Ireland Head Coach Scott Bemand on the USA game: "It's a learning curve. You have to live these sort of moments, and realistically with the girls, how many times have they actually lived in that space? How many times over the course of years have they been in a position where they're points up?

"The tendency is, and we’ve been guilty of this, is that you get points-up, you think you have to keep playing to get points-up. But ironically, if you sit down and just do the basics well, whether that’s with the ball or without the ball, playing in the right areas, what you tend to find is the opposition start trying to do things and make mistakes. You score off the back of it and then it becomes a cricket score. It’s just those types of things. I think it’s just a new space for the girls."
