Cowboys vs. Giants: The matchup
The Cowboys hit the East Coast for Week 1 with a fresh roster makeover that preserved electric athletes George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb on the outside and a stout offensive line protecting quarterback Dak Prescott. Defensively, Jerry Jones and company went back to the well in Green Bay and acquired edge rusher Rashan Gary via a trade, one offseason after moving pass-rusher Micah Parsons to the Packers in a deal that landed them defensive tackle Kenny Clark. With the talent of a playoff contender, Dallas opens the season with an over/under for wins set at 9.5, according to BetMGM. The Cowboys took at least one step backwards for every collective foot forward last season, when they finished 7-9-1 and lost four of their final five games.
The Giants will reunite the second-year duo of quarterback Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo, which showed promise in an otherwise down ’25 season where they finished with a 4-13 record and plummeted with nine straight losses from Week 7 to Week 16. New York also brought in a proven leader in former Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh and added another prized linebacker in No. 2 overall draft pick Arvell Reese to a mix that includes former high first-rounders Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux and veteran rusher Brian Burns.
